The Allure Of Sash Windows

Sash windows have been around since about the seventieth century or thereabouts. A pulley system inside the frame itself is the mechanism by which the parts of the window can be moved. They slide one over the other instead of opening outwards or inwards. The earliest designs moved sideways instead of the vertical manner is more usually seen today. They were popular because the lines of a house were not disrupted when they were opened.
